BRUNSWICK — Terry Darlene Bennett Cox, 70 of Brunswick, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at Southeast Georgia Health Systems Brunswick Campus.
Mrs. Cox was born March 18, 1955 in Brunswick to Frederick Paul Bennett and Betty Lou Dykes Bennett. She lived in Douglas as a child before moving back to Brunswick in 1966.
Mrs. Cox was a very active and dedicated member of Christian Renewal Church, and a member of several groups including the Monday Night Bible Study, Tuesday Ladies Bible Study, and Wednesday Night Praise and Worship. She had a servant’s heart and was always available for any church activities.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Eula Bennett; her father, Frederick Paul Bennett; her mother, Betty Lou Dykes Bennett Smith; her husband, Gary Lawrence Cox; and an infant son.
Survivors include her aunts, Ruby Carroll and Joan Deen, both of Brunswick, and Peggy Grimes of Waynesville; brothers-in-law, Sammy Cox and Harry Cox, both of Brunswick; cousins, Cindy Bennett and Jeanenne Freeman (Ricky) of Brunswick; a nephew, Michael Cox (Kim) of Brunswick; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services to celebrate Mrs. Cox’s life were held Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Christian Renewal Church with Pastor Mark Linton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society.
