HICKOX – Lisa Creola Rhoden Wainright, 64, of Hickox passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross after a brief illness.
Born in Waycross, her parents were Joseph Perry Rhoden and Bertha Hartwig Rhoden. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Rhoden.
Mrs. Wainright was an assistant manager for Friendly Express. She loved spending time with her grandkids and loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs and NASCAR.
Survivors include her husband, John Wainright of Hickox; a son and daughter-in-law, Joshua Perry Wainright (Alicia) of Hickox; a daughter, Melissa Annette Crews (Jeremy) of Hickox; nine grandchildren, Daisy Wainright (Dalton), Perry Wainright, Jr., Hunter Wainright (Serenity), Holdyn Wainright, Gracie Strickland (Donovan), Jakob Strickland (Emberly), Chelsy Strickland, Gavin Crews and Jonathan Crews; four great grandchildren, Berklee Rowell, Rhett Rowell, Callie Register and Bode Register; a brother, Tony Rhoden of Hickox; special niece, Amy Rhoden (Stacey) of Hortense; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, December 23, 2025 from 6 p.m.– 8 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held today (Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at 11 a.m., at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Foreman officiating.
Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Perry Wainright, Jr., Gavin Crews, Jonathan Crews, Hunter Wainright, Holdyn Wainright and Jakob Strickland. Honorary pallbearers will be Employees of Friendly Express #97.
