Brantley County placed one offensive player on the all-Region First Team and four on the all-Region Second Team in voting by its region coaches at the end of the regular season.
The all-Region teams, per a region agreement, were released after Worth County captured the Class A Division I crown last week beating defending champion Toombs County 17-13 Junior Carson Coger was one of 11 offensive lineman selected for First Team honors. Classmate Connor Sumner was one of eight offensive linemen representatives named Second Team.
The Herons had three sophomore defensive players tabbed to the Second Team. Dennis Raulerson was among five defensive lineman selected, Clark Carter was in the five-player list of line-backers, and Tallan Collins joined six others as defensive backs.
The region champion Rams were well represented with 16 players (11 first team, five second team) honored. Thomasville was next with 14 (nine first, five second).
Fitzgerald (nine first, 3 second), Berrien (three first, nine second) and Bacon County (four first, eight second) tied with 12 honorees each.
Jeff Davis (six first, three second) and BCHS (one first, 4 second) finished out the region totals.
Worth County senior running back Kaden Chester was named the Region Player of the Year. Thomasville senior quarterback Cam Hill was tabbed the Offensive Player of the Year.
Worth County senior linebacker Chance Sims garnered Defensive Player of the Year honors. Fitzgerald senior Victor Copeland, who played quarterback/running back/defensive back, was the Athlete of the Year.
Jeff Davis senior kicker Fabian Valdamar received the Special Teams Player of the Year award.
Worth County head coach Jeff Hammond was named Region Coach of the Year after leading the Rams to a 10-0 regular season and 6-0 mark in region play.
