A report of gunfire led to the arrest last week of a Waycross man on drug, theft and weapons charges, the Waycross Police Department said.
Mun’darius Lashad Goodman, 33, of Waycross, is in the Ware County Jail after being arrested December 16 on five felony charges. Goodman, who originally provided a false name to officers when apprehended, has been charged with Trafficking Illegal Drugs (ecstasy),Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Felonies, and Discharge of a Firearm near a Public Street.
Authorities said additional charges are expected.
About 9 p.m., December 16, WPD officers responded to an apartment complex in the 300 block of Garlington Avenue for a report of gunfire in the vicinity. After a brief investigation, officers located Goodman.
The investigation led to an apartment where a stolen firearm and significant quantity of illegal drugs was recovered. Goodman was arrested and transported to the jail.
