WAYCROSS — Mrs. Mary Jo Thomas Worth, 87, died Tuesday evening, December 16, 2025, at Hospice House Satilla.
She was born October 3, 1938 in Millwood to the late Early Clinton Thomas and Delilah Davis Thomas. Mrs. Worth was a lunchroom worker for 25 years at Ware County High School and attended Waycross Holiness Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dave “Junior” Worth; her son, Paul Edward Worth; two brothers, D.C. Thomas (late Gladys) and Jimmie Ray Thomas (late Ruth); and two sisters, Lollie Mae Conner (late Cecil) and Nancy Wonnie Barnes (late Kenneth).
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Susan Worth of Quitman, Ga.; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and special friends,
Lane York, Dale Purvis, Gina Burke, and Jackie Herrin.
A funeral service was held December 22 at Music Funeral Home. Burial followed at Kettle Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial donations be made to Waycross Holiness Baptist Church, 110 East Blackshear Avenue, Waycross, 31501.
