Rosa Rebecca Stoops
WAYCROSS — Rosa Rebecca “Becky” Hendrix Stoops 93, of Waycross died Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, S.C., after a brief illness.
Mrs. Stoops was born in Homerville to the late Clarence G. Hendrix and Zola Mae McLaney Hendrix, but Waycross was her home. She and her parents were Charter members of Sweat Memorial Baptist Church.
She traveled with her husband and family while he served in the Navy. She retired as a dental assistant and started out working in Dr. Oldenbuttles office. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband and running their ice business, Hawaiian Shaved Ice in Indiana and spending time in her garden with her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Stoops , and two children, Diane and James.
Mrs. Stoops is survived by two daughters, Nan Caputo and her husband, Carl, of Walterboro, and Janice Mae Printy and her husband, the late Roger; three grandchildren, Roger Dale (Sharon), Joey (Chelsea), and Katrina (Warren); four great grandchildren; one greatgreat grandchild; a sisterin- law, Elaine Hartley (Steve) and their son Scott Hartley of Princeton, Ind.; and numerous children who adopted her.
A celebration of life service was held by the family December 21 at the residence of Mrs. Stoops.
