Tiny homes and RV parks could be regulated

Planning Commission to hold second round of public hearings on issues

The Pierce County Planning Commission will hold a second round of public hearings to receive input on proposed ordinances governing recreational vehicle parks and tiny homes.

Ads on the hearings are included in this week’s public notices.

The hearings will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2026, at the courthouse annex on Nichols Street.

The planning commission will receive input on both ordinances and will make a recommendation to the county commission. The county commission will have the final say on the ordinances.

The proposed ordinances seek to regulate both items by providing guidelines about where RV parks and tiny homes can be located.

The planning commission discussed, but took no action on the proposed ordinances, during an earlier hearing in November.
