Pierce Rec Board announces 2026 meetings
The Pierce County Recreation Board has announced its regular monthly meetings for 2026.
The recreation board will meet Tuesday, January 6, February 3, March 3, April 7, May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4, September 1, October 6, November 3 and December 1.
All board meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the Southeast Georgia Regional Agriculture Center (formerly the NFC Building) on College Avenue in Blackshear.

Diabetes support group to meet every first Saturday
The Talki Foundation’s monthly support group for people in Ware County and surrounding areas with diabetes and their caregivers will hold meetings the first Saturday of every month.
The support group meets 11 a.m. in the Hospital Annex Classroom, 1800 Alice Street, Waycross. Upcoming dates include: January 3, February 7, March 7, April 4, May 2 and June 6, 2026.
The support group, called 912 Diabetes Initiative support group provides educational resources and a chance to connect with others. Talki Foundation President Charlie Komons facilitates the monthly meeting which is hosted by Memorial Satilla Health.
