Chesser post second state qualifying time leading PCHS to win

the Ware County Holiday Invitational meet Tuesday at the YMCA.

The Bears, who placed second, were led by Sam Chesser’s two first-place finishes. Chesser posted his second state qualifying time winning the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.94. He captured the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:17.27.

The Bears’ 400 free relay team captured first with a time of 4:23.86.

The Lady Bears, who finished first, were led by Teagan Dixon’s two firstplace finishes. She won the 50 free with a time of 28.74 seconds and the 100 backstroke posting a time off 1:11.22.

Jacey Ryals captured first in the 500 free with a personal-best 6:09.63, nearly 30 seconds better than her previous best mark.

The Lady Bears’ 200 medley relay team consisting of Jacey Ryals, Jasmine Sergent, Lyla Brooker and Dixon notched a victory clocking a time of 2:13.08. The 400 free relay team also posted a first-place finish with a time of 4:17.63.

The Bears’ 200 free relay team of Rowan McCrea, Davis Dyal, Donald Moser and Chesser placed third with a time of 1:43.58. Moser placed fifth in the 100 free with a personal-best time of 1:03.39.

Ryans and Sergent each recorded third-place finishes in the 50 free and 100 free respectively. Ryan posted a 29.47-sec. time in the 50 free with Sergent finishing with a time of 1:10.33.

Khloe Hewatt finished fifth in the 200 free recording a time of 3:31.04. Brooker was fourth in the 50 free with a time of 29.91.

PCHS will swim Thursday, December 18 at the YMCA starting at 4 p.m.
