The Waycross Journal-Herald’s Empty Stocking Fund Christmas tradition climbed dramatically with 11 donations totaling $8,650 pushing the current 2025 total to $9,425.
Contributions were received from:
• $5,000: In memory of William H. Smith;
• $1,000: In loving memory of Robert M. Dixon;
• $500: Anonymous;
• $500: Hephzibah Baptist Church - Battered women and children; • $500: Faith Temple Church;
• $250: In loving memory of Roy Harris by Patsy Harris;
• $100: In memory of Glenda Lott Summerling, Dr. Sam Worthington, Mike Sweat;
• $100: Anonymous;
• $100: In memory of Marshall and Evon Dixon;
• $100: In memory of Shanna Chesser;
• $100: Bazley Harris
• $100: Myla Harris;
• $100: Ben Harris;
• $100: Gary and Ethel Harrison;
• $100: Benjy and Jessica Harris
Donations this year to the annual fundraiser have pushed the newspaper’s effort total to $332,524.64 since 1984.
Since 2019 under Head Publishing, LLC., the Empty Stocking Fund has collected $64,846.50.
Contributions for the fund will be accepted through the month of December. Donations to the fund may be delivered from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., weekdays to the Journal-Herald office at 311 Carswell Avenue or mailed to:
