Whitson
WAYCROSS — Mr. Kennith “Dean” Whitson, 88, of Waycross died Monday afternoon, December 8, 2025, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born in San Luis Obispo, Calif., to the late Odell Whitson and Omie Whitson. Whitson retired from the United States Air Force after 41 dedicated years of service. He was a member of Zion Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Millwood, where he used his carpentry skills to build the church pulpit and communion table.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Willis and his grandson, Dean McIntosh.
He is survived by his wife, Fay Whitson of Waycross; three children, Kennith Dean Whitson and his wife, Sondra, of Richmond, Va., Tina Marie Stogdale and her husband, Barry, of Waycross, and Debbie McIntosh and her husband, Wayne of Arkansas; nine grandchildren; two siblings, John Dale Whitson and Linda Lee; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
