David L. White

White WAYCROSS — David L White, 67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025 in Waycross at Ms. Jo’s Personal Care Home.

David was born July, 9, 1958, in Broward County, Fla., to the late Clarence and Mary White. He graduated from Manatee High School, Bradenton, Fla.,

in 1976 and Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, Fla., in 1980. He married Tina Cribb on May 25, 1989, in Waycross. He was a member of Sweat Memorial Baptist Church.

White had the privilege of pastoring many churches. He started as associate pastor at Palmetto Assembly of God in Palmetto, Fla., Assembly of God in Peru, Ind., Woodlawn Baptist in Garden City, Ga., and continued in Ware and Pierce counties at Crawford Street Baptist, Waycross; Mershon Baptist Church, Pierce County; Memorial Baptist Church, Waycross; and Trinity Methodist Church, Waycross. He also taught classes at Waycross High School and Crossroads Christian Academy.

White had a love for people, and it showed in his works with younger see OBITS, Page 5 children, youth, adults and senior adults. The children and youth affectionately called him “UBD,” Uncle Big Dave. With the children and youth, he taught music, piano lessons, Bible classes, Vacation Bible School, and brought children and youth to the Lord through confirmation classes. He served the senior adults teaching music to the Keenagers, Bible study, and took many adventurous trips around the country. At Trinity Methodist Church, he was the Associate Pastor, Chancel Choir director, played organ, piano, handbells and sang in the group, Cornerstone.

In the community, he served as a volunteer hospital chaplain and a member of the Ethics Committee. He also served the community in various positions: Community Choir as a singer and director; Waycross Area Community Theatre Board; a member of James Dye scholarship fund; and several other boards in the community.

He was preceded in death by wife, Tina Cribb White, and his parents, Mary Gardner and Clarence D. White.

White is survived by Latisha Carver, (Jody) of Niota, Tenn.; Ron White (Christine), Mount Calvary, Wisc.; godson, Noah Jackson (Kelli) of Waycross; Aunt Dorothy Hanson of Graniteville, S.C.; Belle Lee of Katy, Texas; special friend, Forrest States (Elsie) of Kittanning, Pa.; as well as special pet, Sugar, and many cousins.

Visitation will be fro 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 18 at Music Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 19, at Trinity Methodist Church, 1005 Church Street. Forrest States and Isaac Salgado will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Waters Cemetery, Midway Church Road, Blackshear.
