Educators, students, and community partners joined the members of the Phi Delta Kappa educational sorority’s Delta Zeta chapter last month in its annual signature initiative Walk for Education. The event was held at Pernell Roberts Memorial Park between Isabella and Mary streets in downtown Waycross. Participants were treated with bottles of water, popcorn, and breakfast bars after their walk. Chapter members delivered a trunk full of groceries, paper products, and a variety of other items to a family in the community after the walk. With some of the items delivered to the family were (l-r) Dr. Brenda Spearman, Dr. Linda Perry-Simpson, Tiffany Golden, Minnie Goettie, Krystal Johnson, Rosetta Robinson, Shirley Gordon, Carol Reed, Sonja Howard, and Gabby Walker.
