HOBOKEN — Tragedy struck here Saturday night when a twocar wreck resulted in the death of a passenger in one of the vehicles.
Law enforcement raced to the December 13 scene on Hwy. 121 South. The accident came after the City of Hoboken’s annual Christmas parade attended by several hundred community members.
According to Brantley County Sheriff Len Davis, officers responded to the scene just north of Cal-Maine Foods, Inc.
Davis confirmed there were two vehicles, one with four people in a car and the other with only the driver with one fatality. The sheriff would not elaborate on details of the accident stating Georgia State Patrol assumed control of the scene upon arrival.
Davis also would not release any names of who was involved in the deadly crash.
An attempt to collect information from the GSP post in Waycross came away empty.
A GSP spokesperson said the accident report had not been completed with a possible release Tuesday, December 16 or Wednesday, December 17.
The Beacon did learn the fatality was a Brantley County School System student. However, The Beacon is not going to print the name of the student nor the family until Georgia State Patrol releases its report.
