AUGUSTA, Ga. — Ms. Angela Harrison Ham, 72 of Augusta, went to her Heavenly home December 9, 2025 after a brief illness.
Mrs. Ham was born August 7, 1953 in Waycross to Robert and Mildred Harrison. She grew up in Jesup and moved to Augusta in 1963.
In 1971, Mrs. Ham graduated with honors from Westside High School. She was an honor graduate of Georgia Southern University in 1974 with a B.S. Ed. in Early Childhood Education.

Mrs. Ham was the director of Bulloch County Head Start and a kindergarten teacher in Candler, Toombs and Richmond Counties. She was recognized as Clara E. Jenkins 1996 Teacher of the Year and was included in “Who’s Who Among American Teachers”.
Mrs. Ham was the devoted mother to her daughter, Kellie Ham, and son Ashley Ham (Laura) of Augusta. She was a loving “Maw-Maw” to her grandson, Ryan Ham, of Broomfield, Col., and her precious granddaughters, Sara Beth and Ashley Grace Ham, of Augusta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Harrison; infant sister, Annette Harrison; grandparents, Mary Jacobs Harrison of Waycross and Zeke and Lucy Hamby of Mountain Rest, S.C.; and a special aunt and uncle, Lula Mae and Kelly Robinson of Waycross.
Mrs. Ham is survived by her sister, Janet Wilson (Glenn) of Thomson, Ga.; brother, Bobby Harrison, of Augusta; and a nephew, Robert Alan Wilson and family, of Thomson. She also leaves behind many precious cousins and friends, especially Magdalene Nelson of Augusta.
Mrs. Ham touched the lives of many children in her teaching career. She was a warm, caring, and vibrant lady who overcame many trials in her life through her strength in Christ.
Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren, whom she doted on and loved fiercely.
Mrs. Ham had a flair for decorating and flower arranging. Her caring and joyful spirit filled her home with laughter and she always made sure she took care of her family. May she rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
A graveside service was held Friday afternoon, December 12, 2025 at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home.
