FOLKSTON — Brantley County completed a season sweep here Friday knocking off Charlton County in non-region action.
The Lady Herons (5-1) recorded a 55-32 victory in the opener over the Indian Maidens (4-3). BCHS notched a 65-41 victory at home November 18.
The Herons (2-4) followed with a 51-46 decision in the nightcap over the Indians (4-5). Brantley County posted a 37-32 home victory in the first meeting.
No report was filed on the boys’ game.
BCHS traveled Tuesday, December 16 to Wayne County and goes to Pierce County Friday, December 19 closing out the pre-Christmas schedule.
Appling County visits Tuesday, December 30 to close out 2025.
Lady Herons ................... 55 Charlton County.............32 Chloe Johns led nine Lady Herons in the scoring column helping Brantley County to the victory over the Indian Maidens.
Johns scored nine points, grabbed nine rebounds, recorded a team-leading four steals and had an assist.
Brantley County jumped out to a six-point lead by the end of the opening quarter at 14-8. The Lady Herons held Charlton County scoreless in the second stanza outscoring the home team 10-0 to take a 24-8 halftime lead.
BCHS matched its first half production in the third period outscoring the Indian Maidens 24-11 to open up a 48-19 lead. Charlton County chipped six points off the deficit in the final quarter outpointing the Lady Herons 13-7.
Abbie Lee (team-high 15 rebounds, two assists, two steals), Tamiyah Coley (four rebounds, two steals) and Sarah Grace Tompkins (eight rebounds, steal) each scored eight points.
Brodie Allen (rebound, steal) and Julie Carter (six rebounds, two assists, steal) netted six points and five points respectively.
Anniston Bowers (three steals, two rebounds, two assists) and Ella Highsmith (rebound) contributed four points apiece. Kirsten Smith (three rebounds, assist, steal) bagged three points.
