
Gloria Annette Corbitt Corbitt, 85, of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday morning, December 9, 2025, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.
Born January 10, 1940 in Waycross, she lived in Pierce County most of her adult life. She worked at Rubin Brothers Shoe Factory as well as a meat factory prior to obtaining her CNA certification and going to work at Memorial Hospital in Waycross for 10 years. She would go on to work as a private sitter for several people including the Eunice Family. She loved doing crafts and selling them at craft shows. She also enjoyed arranging flowers and going to garage sales. She was a member of Patterson Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late Ottie LaFayette and Eva Mae Tillman Corbitt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Robert Corbitt Sr.; two sons, Dewey Robert Corbitt Jr. and Glenn Allen Corbitt; a sister, Azilee Meredith; and a brother, Robert E. Corbitt.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Lisa Corbitt, Blackshear; a sister, Josephine “Jo” Tatum, Waycross; a brother, Donald (Margaret) Corbitt, Waycross; a sister-in-law, Sandy Corbitt, Sharpsburg, NC; four grandchildren, John (Kerry) Corbitt, Les (Brandi) Corbitt, Chris (Miranda) Corbitt and Cole (Jessica) Corbitt; eight great-grandchildren, Emily Corbitt, Erykka (Andrew) Joyner, Leah Corbitt, Tomee Corbitt, Kristal Corbitt, Kaitlyn Corbitt, Dylan (Taylor) Corbitt and Matthew Corbitt; a great-great-grandchild, Kash Corbitt and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorialization is by cremation.
