Rigdon
WAYCROSS — Mr. Roy Allen Rigdon, Jr., 58, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025, at his residence.
Born November 6, 1967, in Ware County, Rigdon was the son of the late Ernest Desso “Buddy” Rigdon and Lois Davis Rigdon. He attended Manor High School and was a longtime member of Waresboro Church of God. Rigdon retired from the City of Waycross after 25 years of dedicated service as an infrastructure foreman.
A true outdoorsman, Rigdon found joy in hunting, fishing, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. He especially loved NASCAR, proudly supporting driver No. 6 Mark Martin. In earlier years, he spent many weekends racing at Waycross Motor Speedway, a passion that brought him great excitement and camaraderie.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kaylee Michelle Williams; his uncle, Bobby Rigdon; and his aunts, Frances Music and Amy Strickland.
Rigdon is survived by his loving wife, Sonya Harrell Rigdon of Waycross; three daughters, Kristi Williams (Dustin), Rory Teitsch (Doug), and Kayla Morgan, all of Waycross; and his cherished grandchildren, Noah Teitsch, Chyenne Geary, Austin Newbern, Kelssie Bowen (Derrick), Tylen Williams, Dustin Williams, Jr., Kyser Williams, Emeri Morgan, and Maddie McVeigh. He also leaves behind one great grandchild, Baylor; two sisters, Sonya Pack (Dale) and Vanessa Moore; nephews, Dale Pack III and Dustin Rigdon; and numerous other relatives who loved him dearly.
A memorial service was held December 5 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
