Beginning in January, the Talki Foundation’s monthly support group for people with diabetes and their caregivers in Ware County and surrounding areas will hold meetings the first Saturday of every month.
The support group will meet at 11 a.m., in the Memorial Satilla Health Annex Classroom, 1800 Alice Street. Dates for the first half of the year are January 3, February 7, March 7, April 4, May 2 and June 6.
The support group, called 912 Diabetes Initiative, provides educational resources and a chance to connect with others. The Talki Foundation president and founder Charlie Komons facilitates the monthly meeting which is hosted by the hospital. Call (844) 630-5295 to register.
The foundation, a nonprofit organization is dedicated to assisting low-income diabetic patients in Georgia.
The foundation achieves this by raising funds to purchase federally funded insulin.
Beyond providing essential medication, The Talki Foundation also strives to raise awareness and promote education about diabetes
