WAYCROSS — David “DeJay” Richard Jenkins, 68, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, at UF Health in Jacksonville, Fla., from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Mrs. LuAnn Jenkins, 70, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross from injuries received in an autom obile accident.

Jenkins was born December 10, 1956, in Plant City, Fla., to the late Berry Richard Jenkins and Virginia Toole Jenkins.

Mrs. Jenkins was born April 25, 1955 in Bartow, Fla., to Donald Taylor and the late Jane Taylor.

The couple lived most of their lives in Plant City, but moved to Waycross in 2006. They owned and operated DeJay Memorials in Florida, and helped their family with Affordable Monuments in Waycross.

Jenkins graduated with a Bachelor’s of Mortuary Science, and he formerly managed five funeral chapels in Florida. He was a 32nd degree Mason and former Shriner.

For many years, Mrs. Jenkins was a medical secretary. The couple enjoyed rescuing cats, visiting casinos while on vacations, but most importantly, spending time and working with their family.

The couple was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Jon Aaron Jenkins, and her mother, Jane Taylor.

Survivors include their children, Dayla Howell (Billy) of Waycross, Barry Jenkins (Erin) of Dallas, Ga., and Desti Musgrove (T.J.) of Waycross; and her son, Nathaniel Taylor of Florida; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her father, Donald Taylor of Mulberry, Fla.; their siblings, Leatha Harrell, Benji Jenkins, Donnie Taylor, and Connie Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

According to their wishes, memorialization is by cremation.
