WAYCROSS — Mrs. Margie Ann Joiner Hickox, 74, passed away Friday morning, November 28, 2025, at Hospice House Satilla.
Born February 13, 1951, in Waycross, Margie was the daughter of the late Robert Henry Joiner and Betty Bennett Joiner. She was formerly employed as a manager with Sing Food Store, but she devoted most of her life to being a loving homemaker, caring for the family she cherished.
Mrs. Hickox was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed trips to Disney World and listening to her favorite music. Above all, her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenny Hickox of Waycross; two daughters, Tammy Sills (James) of Waycross and Amy Kocher (Steve) of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Daniel Sills (Courtney) and Gayla Walker (Dylan); and her great grandchildren, Ryker, Sawyer, Freya, and Rynley. She also is survived by her siblings, Jerry Joiner (Letha), Diane Peagler, and Carolyn Aldridge (Dennis); along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, December 3) at Shiloh Cemetery in Blackshear.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice House Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, 31501, in gratitude for the exceptional care provided during its time of need.
