Shelton Charles ‘Charlie’ Davis

Davis

PIERCE COUNTY — Mr. Shelton Charles “Charlie” Davis, 54, passed away suddenly Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at his residence in Pierce County.

Born September 19, 1971, in Waycross, Davis was the son of Gene Edw ard Davis, Sr. and the late Ann Barnard Hattaway. He att ended Ware County High School and spent his working years as a dedicated truck driver.

His passing leaves his family with hearts broken in a way that feels unreal. To say goodbye to our son and baby brother is nearly impossible. While he has gained a beautiful set of wings, Heaven has gained a special soul. A tremendous void remains within our family and in the hearts of all who knew him.

Davis was the most caring, kind, giving, and funny person — truly a gentle giant with a huge heart. He was a kid at heart who loved everyone, and if you knew him, you couldn’t help but love him back. That was Davis.

His greatest passion was racing — anything involving the track was his happy place. Known as “Big Show,” Car No. C21, Davis never backed down and was truly gifted behind the wheel.

Surprisingly to some, Davis also enjoyed playing golf. He loved movies, fishing, music of all kinds, video games, and cooking. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh right along with him.

He will be loved always and be missed more than life itself. One last race, “Big Show,” many await you in Heaven.

Survivors include his father, Gene Davis (Shirley); two sisters, Norma Jean Dell and Tammy Harrell; brother, Eddie Davis (Connie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held December 2 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.

Music Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
