Waycross native Pamela Rose (right) continued a 40-year tradition Saturday, November 22 by offering free Thanksgiving meals at the picnic area of Hatcher Way Apartments, 127 Havanna Avenue. Rose, along with volunteers, served 271 meals with bottled water free to the community. Rose said she gave away 70 cups of soup to the community on Veterans Day, and provides food each weekend for a small group of senior citizens who live with her in the apartment complex.
