Ware County’s Lady Gators split their final two games before the Thanksgiving break winning a neutral site game and falling in a true road encounter.
The Lady Gators (2-1) wrapped play in the annual Hugh McBride Tipoff tournament at Jeff Davis High School Monday, November 24 beating Toombs County (1-4) 58-40.
A night later at Richmond Hill, Ware County fell 52-35 to the Lady Wildcats (2-1).
Both the Lady Gators and Gators (first game of season) were in action Tuesday, December 2 at Valdosta. Worth County visits Thursday, December 4 with Glynn Academy coming to town Friday, December 5.

HAZLEHURST — A’Treasure White notched her first double-double scoring a career-high 22 points and grabbing a career-best 18 rebounds helping lift Ware County past the Lady Bulldogs.
White, who scored 10 points in the first half and added 12 points over the final two periods, was joined by Bre Hill in the double figure column. Hill scored 15 of her career-best 19 points in the first half. She just missed a double-double finishing with nine rebounds.
Hill scored nine points in the opening period as the Lady Gators stormed out to a 17-7 lead. Ware County outpointed the Lady Bulldogs 1413 in the second stanza for a 31-20 halftime lead. White and Hill combined to score 12 of the 14 points.
The Lady Gators clipped Toombs County by a point in the third quarter using a 13-12 scoring advantage to take a 44-32 lead into the final period. Ware County outpointed the Lady Bulldogs 14-8 over the final eight minutes.
Bailey Denton and Lauren Bell were next in the scoring column with five points and four points respectively. Lydia Munford and Madisyn Daniels each scored three points with LeLe Reid netting two points.
Toombs County was paced by Arianna Hill’s 19 points. Taylor Bland followed with 10 points. Each connected on two treys apiece.

RICHMOND HILL — The Lady Wildcats outscored visiting Ware County in every quarter in their new gymnasium pulling away for the win.
Richmond Hill opened up a six-point advantage by the end of the first period at 14-8. The home team added a point to its margin outscoring the Lady Gators 13-12 in the second quarter in taking a 27-20 lead at intermission.
The Lady Wildcats pushed the margin to double digits by the end of the third stanza using a 10-7 scoring advantage for a 37-27 lead. Richmond Hill closed the game outpointing the Lady Gators 15-8 for the 17-point victory.
Denton was the lone double-figure scorer for Ware County finishing with 13 points including a 7-for-7 performance at the charity stripe. She has opened the season hitting her first 16 free throw attempts.
Munford followed with six points with Charmain Farrell and Daniels contributing four points apiece. Hill finished with three points while Neveah Norton and Ra’Janne Buford bagged two points apiece. White connected on a free throw.
Elyza Shuman topped Richmond Hill with 15 points. Emari Brown added 13 points.

RICHMOND HILL — Ware County’s fourth quarter rally fell one point short in falling to the Lady Wildcats.
The Lady Gators trailed 28-17 entering the final stanza using a 13-3 scoring advantage to make things interesting.
Ware County trailed 9-5 at the end of the first period. The Lady Wildcats added one point to their margin during the second stanza outscoring the visitors 9-8 for an 18-13 halftime lead.
Richmond Hill outpointed the Lady Gators 10-4 in the third quarter to open up a 28-17 advantage.
Reid led the Lady Gators with seven points. Ameria Burse and Bell contributed six points apiece. Daniels netted three points. Gekhya Rawls, Ayla Bell, Buford and Farrell bagged two points each.
