Waycross will get in the Christmas spirit Saturday, December 6 with a summer-themed festival around the streets of downtown in “Santa’s Beach Bash.”
Beginning at 11 a.m., visitors will find music, vendors, a variety of food and beverages, shopping, games, a benefit race and finally the annual Christmas parade at 6:30 p.m.
The parade in Waycross will follow its traditional route, starting in Pernell Roberts Memorial Park ad continuing up Elizabeth Street into downtown before moving left onto Plant Avenue. The procession takes a left on Carswell Avenue, a right on Church Street and another left on Albany Avenue to Tebeau Street.
The parade’s final stretch comes after a right on Isabella Street returning to the park.
Satilla Advocacy Services is staging its annual Downtown Dash and Dine Saturday, December 6, an event held in memory of Cindy Wade Tanner, remembered for her love of running and her unwavering commitment to serving youth.
The event features a festive 3K Elf Run, where runners are challenged to “catch the Elf if you can,” followed by a 1-mile fun run, suitable for all ages.
Race Day registration and packet pickup for those who registered in advance is at noon. The 3K is $25 and begins at 1 p.m., followed by the $10 fun run.

The weekend celebration in Waycross is one of three in the area Saturday. Nahunta’s Christmas fest begins at 9 a.m., in its downtown area with the parade at 2 p.m. Hoboken holds its parade at 6 p.m.

Blackshear’s Christmas parade is at 6 p.m., Monday, December 8.
