Donald Woodrow Lee, Sr.

HOBOKEN — Donald Woodrow Lee, Sr., 76, of Hoboken passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Hospice House Satilla in Waycross after an extended illness.

Born in Waycross, Lee’s parents were J.C. Lee and Daisy Dowling Lee. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Marty Lee Strickland; and a brother, Jerome Lee.

Lee was a retired seargent with the Air Force. He was a purple heart recipient from wounds sustained in the Vietnam War.

Lee was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He loved riding motorcycles, working on race cars, hot rods and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and loved his dog Reba.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-inlaw, Donald Lee, Jr. (Wendi) of Blackshear and Josh Lee of Hoboken; two grandchildren, Morgan Carter (Jackson), and Wayne Lee (Gracie); two

great grandchildren, Archie Lee and Eleanor Lee; two brothers and sisters- in-law, Ronald Lee (Shirley) and Darrell Lee (Kathyrn). both of Brunswick; a sister, Cindy Lee of Brunswick; two sisters- in-law, Linda Crews and Colleen Lee; two brothers-in-law, Gary Altman and David Nichols; special friend, Susie Kelley; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, December 3, 2025) one hour prior to the service from 2 p.m.-3 p.m..

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., at High Bluff Cemetery with Bro. Mike Walker officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Stone, Thomas Stone, Gary Altman, and Hugh Johns.

In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project.
