NAHUNTA – Carol Ferguson Wood, 72 of Nahunta, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025 at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Woods’ parents were Gordan Keith Ferguson and Louise Higginbotham Ferguson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Auston Wood, Jr.; and a sister, Sharon Ferguson.
Mrs. Woods was retired from FLETC as a personnel trainer. She loved spending time with her family, reading, piddling in her flowers, floating in her pool and loved her dogs.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela Blevins of Nahunta; a son and daughter-in-law, David Anderson (Tamby) of Brunswick; four grandchildren, Kelsey Stump, Austin Blevins, Chris Anderson and James Fabie; five great grandchildren, Colson Smith, Sailor Anderson, Rhett Anderson, Blakley Anderson and Heath Fabie; two sisters and brother-in-law, Marsha Dykes (Wayne) of Nahunta and Patricia Harley of Warner Robins; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service today (Wednesday, December 3, 2025) from 10 a.m.–11 a.m., at Frye Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Scarboro officiating.
Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Sellers, Matt Dixon, Michael Jennings, Joe Parse, David Ponsell and David Ricks.
