WAYNESVILLE – “Rocky” Guy Dixon, 65 of Waynesville, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025 at UF Health in Jacksonville, Fla.
Born in Jacksonville, Dixon’s parents were Willie Dixon and Catherine Kimbrell Middleton. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, David Dixon and Mikey Dixon.
Dixon was of the Christian faith. He was selfemployed with Dixon Painting. He loved hunting, fishing, painting and spending time with his grandbabies. He loved NASCAR and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Skipper Dixon of Waynesville; two daughters and two sonsin- law, Marci Dixon (Colby Driggers) of Brooksville, Fla., and Kaylee Edgy (Darrell) of Waynesville; a son, Ross Edgy of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Marly Dixon, Levi Driggers, Emma Driggers, Kason Edgy and Daxton Nissen; three great grandchildren, Kyah Dixon, Dallas Driggers and Lane Driggers; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bobby Dixon of Waynesville and Larry Dixon (Linda) of Callahan, Fla.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Cathy Lewis (Donald) of Lulaton and Susan Dixon of Callahan, Fla.; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, December 3, 2025) from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., at Frye Funeral Home.
A funeral services will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 11 a.m., at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Bishop Raymond Willis, Bro. Steve Roberson and Rev. David Farrior officiating.
Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Barnes, John Dixon, Justin Dixon, Brandon Thornton, Allen Thornton, Larry “Taz” Dixon and Clifford Steedley.
