Tax bills will be arriving in mailboxes all over the county starting this week.
Tax Commissioner Nicole Scurry says she expects to mail the bills tomorrow, December 4.
Tailored Business Systems (TBS), based in Statesboro, handles printing and mailing of the approximately 12,000 bills for the county, cities and school board.
The county also mails notices for the school board and the cities of Blackshear and Patterson.
All property tax bills will be due by the close of business February 6, 2026.
Tax bills will increase over last year. The county millage rate will increase by one full mill to 10.397, while all other governments will decrease by very small amounts. The school board millage will be 13.951 mills, down from 14 last year. The City of Patterson is 7.9072, down from 7.996 last year and Blackshear’s millage rate is 8.664, down from 8.711 last year.
