WAYCROSS — Mr. Wendell Thomas Minix, Sr., 61, passed away suddenly Monday, November 10, 2025, at his residence in Waycross.
He was born in Waycross to the late Eugene Minix and Eunice Hester Minix. He was employed for many years with General Electric at the CSX Transportation Rice Yard in Waycross and most recently worked with Farmers and Builders Ace Hardware.
Minix attended Waycross Primitive Baptist Church for many years and had recently been attending Anchor Baptist Church. In his youth, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and also served in the United States Marine Corp.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife of 32 years, Cindy Marie Jones Minix.
Survivors include his wife, Leketta Lovett Minix of Waycross; eight children, Wendell Thomas Minix, Jr. (Brittany) of Waycross, Lena Marie Minix (Josh Beasley) of Waycross, Jordan Rene’ Flowers (Nathan) of Blackshear, Lindsey Lori Rios (Devon) of Waycross, Amanda Gill of Florida, Gracianna Gaskins (Seth) of Waycross, Ross Williams of Waycross, and Amber Dell (Joe) of Blackshear; 17 grandchildren; one brother, Steve Minix of Brunswick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
