NEEDMORE, Ga. — Virgil Oliver, 79, of Needmore, Ga., died Thursday morning, November 20, 2025, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born in Manor to the late Eamer J. and Minnie McDaniel Oliver, and lived in Manor and Fargo. Oliver was a sheetrocker and worked last for Boyd’s Drywall. He always enjoyed boat riding and drag racing.
Along with his parents, he also was preceded in death by one son, Virgil Ben Oliver; one daughter, Gloria Oliver Griffin; four brothers, baby Eugene Oliver, James Oliver, Elmon Oliver, and Bill Oliver; and two sisters, Eva Kate Hodge and Faye Wasdin.
Survivors include three sons, Kent Oliver (Kristy) of Manor, Ivey Oliver of Manor, and Charlie Oliver (Virginia) of Needmore; stepson, Ethan Henderson of Needmore; former wife and caregiver, Teresa Henderson of Needmore; four grandchildren, Chelsea Howard (husband Dylan) of Wasilla, Alaska, Noah Griffin (Katelan), of Manor, Lucas Roper and Jonnie Ray Roper of Needmore; five greatgrandchildren, Kenton Griffin, Willow Rouse, Everly Griffin, Alba Griffin, and Natalie Griffin; four brothers, Omer Oliver (Annie Mae) of Yulee, Fla., John Oliver of Hortense, Grady Oliver (Jackie) of Waresboro, and Junior Oliver (Shirley) of Hoboken; two sisters, Geneva Raulerson of Hoboken, and Carrie Mae Durr of Waycross; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A graveside service was held Monday at Jordan Cemetery.
