Former American Legion advocate, ‘Dottie’ Wildes, passes away at 88

Dorothy Dixon Kicklighter “Dottie” Wildes of Blackshear, passed peacefully Wednesday evening, April 26, 2023. She was 88.

Wildes was a military wife and was a tireless advocate for the American Legion Post 181 in Blackshear. Wildes and her late husband, Jim, served as Auxiliary President and Commander for several terms.

Wildes was also known locally as legal secretary for long-time attorney and State Court Judge Francis Houston.
