Pierce County’s legislative delegation will introduce legislation in the 2026 Georgia General Assembly to authorize a technology fee for the Pierce County Magistrate Court.
A public notice on the proposal is included in today’s edition.
Magistrate Judge Shelly Herndon proposed implementing the fee at a recent county commission meeting and commissioners approved the resolution.
The fee will be assessed on filings at the magistrate court. Proceeds will be used to upgrade technology at the court.
Pierce County’s delegation, including State Representative Steven Meeks (R-Screven) and State Senator Russ Goodman (R-Cogdell) will introduce the bill in the Assembly early next year.
