A Waycross man injured in a car/bus accident earlier this month has died.
David Jenkins, 68, of Waycross, died Friday, November 21, according to Pierce County Coroner William Wilson.
Jenkins had been in critical condition at a Jacksonville, FL, trauma center since the accident.
Jenkins’ wife, Lu Ann Jenkins, 70, also of Waycross died shortly after the accident Nov. 10 in the emergency room at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
A spokesman for the Georgia State Patrol said Monday a final report on the accident is still pending. The state’s specialized collision reconstruction team (SCRT) is working the investigation.
A preliminary report indicates the Jenkins vehicle collided with a Pierce County School Bus Nov. 10 at the intersection of Ware Street Extension and Meadow Wood Road in Pierce County.
The driver and two students were on board the bus at the time of the accident. No one on the bus was injured in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
