Drew Mattox and Riley Thomas, students at Pierce County High School (PCHS), were both selected to attend the 2025 Youth LEAD Georgia Summit, held recently at the University of Georgia in Athens.
Mattox, a senior, and Thomas, a junior, represented PCHS and the local community at this statewide event hosted by the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development in partnership with Chickfil-A, Inc.
The summit brought together rising juniors and seniors from across Georgia to develop leadership skills, build relationships with peers and explore important issues facing today’s youth. Students also had the opportunity to experience life on the UGA campus and participate in hands-on workshops and team-building activities, all at no cost thanks to Chick-fil-A’s support.
“We are incredibly proud of Riley and Drew,” said Rebecca Baldree, PCHS Academic Counselor. “They are already making a difference here at school, and this summit helped prepare them to lead beyond the classroom as well.”
