The county has set its commission meeting and holiday schedules for 2026.
County commission meetings will be held at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month in 2026 including January 6, February 10, March 3, April 7, May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4, September 8, October 6, November 3 and December 1.
All commission meetings are held on the second floor of the Southeast Georgia Regional Agriculture Center (formerly the NFC Building), located at 705 College Avenue, Blackshear.
County employees will have paid holidays and county offices will be closed in 2026 including New Year’s Day, January 1, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 19, Good Friday, April 3, Memorial Day, May 25, Independence Day, July 3, Labor Day, September 7, Thanksgiving November 26-27 and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, December 24 and 25.
