Candidate for Lt. Governor visits Steel and Metal Systems

Candidate for Lieutenant Governor, David Clark visited Pierce County last week, making a campaign stop at Steel and Metal Systems, Inc. (SAMS) in Blackshear. The visit was arranged by Teddy Hickox, Project Sales Representative for SwiftBuilt division, the newest division of SAMS, which specializes in custom cold-formed metal building solutions.

“I first met David during my time working at the Capitol while completing my master’s degree, when he was serving as a State Representative. We’ve known each other for around 15 years,” said Hickox. “I invited him to visit because he has a genuine interest in supporting industry growth in South Georgia. With his background as a Green Beret, he was also interested in meeting the many veterans who work in our facilities and learning how companies like ours contribute to business growth in the region.”

Clark’s campaign materials highlight his military experience as a combattested, mission-ready Green Beret, and as a business leader. “I was very impressed with [Clark] during his visit,” said Watson Coffee, owner of Steel & Metal Systems and Roll-Up Door, Inc. “He was very attentive, truthful and genuinely interested in our operations. He wanted to know more about our business needs and how he could help. His professionalism and authenticity stood out.”

Raised on a small farm in Suwanee as one of many children, Clark learned early the values he says define Georgia— faith, hard work and perseverance. After high school, he answered his nation’s call, serving with distinction in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan before earning the coveted title of U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret.

Since 2015, Clark has represented parts of Gwinnett, Forsyth and Hall Counties in the Georgia House of Representatives, where he’s built a record of principled, results-driven leadership. He has chaired the Welfare Fraud Study Committee and the Interstate Cooperation Committee, in his self-described mission to stand up for accountability, transparency and Georgia families.

Now, Clark says he is ready to bring that same discipline, integrity and mission- focused leadership to the office of Lieutenant Governor, ensuring Georgia remains strong, free and forward-focused.

Clark lives in Sugar Hill with his wife, Courtney, and their three children— Madison, Miles and Maverick.
