Jeanette Sceals Faulkner

WAYCROSS — Mrs. Jeanette Sceals Faulkner, 95, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025, at her residence after an extended illness.

Born September 2, 1930, in Fitzgerald, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Sceals and Nannie Davis Sceals. Mrs. Faulkner grew up in Ben Hill County and spent most of her life in Waycross. She was formerly employed as the office manager for Dr. Al Davis, and was a devoted member of Winona Park Church.

One of her favorite pastimes was shopping, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, no matter the cost. Love, compassion, and happiness were the principles she instilled in her family.

She was often quoted as saying, “We all have the ability to get up every day and make a decision to be happy.” Mrs. Faulkner will be fondly remembered for her unconditional love and the way she made everyone around her feel cherished.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John L. Faulkner, Jr.; her daughter, Kathy Faulkner Echols; and five siblings.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Faulkner DeLoach (Wayne) of Sarasota, Fla.; son-in-law, Jim Echols of Patterson; grandchildren, Matt DeLoach (Jessica) and Jake DeLoach (Kristina), all of Sarasota, Jenni Echols DeLoach (Jamie) and Joe Echols (Brooke), all of Springfield, Ga.; great grandchildren, Gavin, Max, and Dylan DeLoach of Springfield, and Lily, Ansley, Claire, and Leah DeLoach of Sarasota; special friend, Pam King of Kingsland; special caregivers, Apearl Long and Kim Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend its deepest, heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Hospice Satilla and Amedisys for the exemplary care and compassion shown to Mrs. Faulkner during her time of need.

A funeral service was held November 13 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service followed at Osierfield Cemetery in Fitzgerald.
