Members of Greater Mt. Zion AME Church honored retired educators during its worship service Sunday November 2, which was designated as Retired Educators Day in Georgia by Gov. Brian Kemp. Waycross Mayor Michael-Angelo James last month presented a similar proclamation to members of the Waycross-Ware County Retired Educators Association at a meeting of the Waycross City Commission. Retired Educators Day is a time to pause and thank the former educators for their many years of dedicated service to teaching.
