Special to The Beacon NAHUNTA — A Hortense man wanted for a parole violation was arrested Thursday by the Nahunta Police Department during a routine traffic stop.
Ricky Christopher Walker, 39 years old, was wanted for a parole violation stemming from prior convictions for Burglary and Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute.
He had been paroled in August.
During the stop, Walker fought with officers forcing them to deploy a Taser to get him into custody. Officers also recovered a Ruger pistol in his possession.
Walker is now facing charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and two counts of felony Obstruction. Additional charges may follow.
