WAYCROSS — Mr. Earnest Desso “Buddy” Rigdon, 78, of Waycross, died Thursday afternoon at Memorial Satilla Health after a brief illness.
Rigdon was born in Ware County to the late Junior Rigdon and Millie Suggs Rigdon. H E worked for the City of Waycross as a Supervisor in the Public Works Department.
Rigdon attended Pine Valley Church and enjoyed fishing. More than anything he loved spending time with his family and sharing memories with them.
Along with his parents, Rigdon was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Rigdon; his great granddaughter, Kaylee Michelle Williams; one brother, Bobby Rigdon; and two sisters, Francis Music and Amy Strickland.
Rigdon is survived by three children, Roy Rigdon and his wife, Sonya, of Waresboro, Vanessa Moore of Waycross, Sonya Pack and her husband, Dale, of Waresboro; four grandchildren, Kristie Williams and her husband, Dustin, Rory Teitsch and her husband, Doug, Dustin Rigdon and Dale Pack III; eight great grandchildren, Kelssie, Derrick, Tylen, Dustin, Jr., Kyser, Dustin, Emily and Noah; one great-great grandchild, Baylor; two sisters, Ann Carter of Waycross and Shirley Davis and her husband, Gene, of Hoboken; one brother, Jimmy Rigdon and his wife, Vicki, of Plant City, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Miles-Odum Funeral Home in Waycross is in charge of arrangements.
