BRUNSWICK — Catherine Ann Bartels Cook, 82 of Brunswick, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at her residence.
She had lived in Brunswick for the past three years after moving from Tampa, Fla. Mrs. Cook was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where she was an avid volunteer, including volunteering with St. Vincent DePaul and the craft group.
Mrs. Cook will be remembered by friends and family for her selflessness in doing for others before herself, her strong faith in Jesus and her devotion to the Blessed Mother. She will also be remembered for her long career in banking and finance, most recently with Wells Fargo in south Florida. Mrs. Cook started the Legion of Mary and also served as a Sacristan while being a member of at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Valrico, Fla.
She was the daughter of the late Albert Fred and Matilda Florence Levernier Bartels. Mrs. Cook was the youngest of seven siblings whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by her former husband Robert Cook and their children, Patricia LaNeve (John) of Waynesville, Christopher Cook (Andrea) of Tampa, Fla., and Charles Cook of Jacksonville, Fla.; her grandchildren, John LaNeve of Brunswick, Joseph LaNeve of Phoenix, Ariz., Michael LaNeve of Jupiter, Fla., and Matthew LaNeve (Ysabel) of Brunswick; great granddaughters, Serafina and Stella LaNeve; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, November 14 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Mark Van-Alstine officiating.
Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematory of Brunswick was in charge of arrangements.
