No students were injured
One person was killed after a car and Pierce County School Bus collided at the intersection of Ware Street and Meadow Wood Road.
According to law enforcement sources, the fatality was a person in the car. The name of the person was not released pending notification of next-of-kin. According to School Superintendent Dara Bennett, no one on board the bus was injured. Law enforcement sources said there were only two students on board at the time of the accident.
The accident occurred Monday afternoon as The Times was getting ready to go to press.
The accident is under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol. Trooper Chase Middleton is in charge of the investigation.
