Wilcox County man charged with child molestation

A Wilcox County man is in the Ware County Jail charged with six counts of child molestation, Ware County Sheriff’s Office Major Neil Skerratt said.

Joshua Matthew Jessie, 25 of Abbeville, was arrested early Wednesday, November 5 by WCSO personnel in an unincorporated area of the county north of Waycross. He has been charged with two counts of Child Molestation and four counts of Aggravated Child Molestation, all felonies. Skerratt said.

About 2:45 a.m. November 5, Patrol Deputy Javone Thompson and other WCSO personnel responded to a 911 call of a missing female juvenile and a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence in the unincorporated area. After Thompson arrived at the residence, he found a Lincoln Town Car with the missing juvenile and adult, later identified as Jessie, inside.

As a result of that information, and followup evidence obtained by Det. Antony Phillips, Jessie was arrested and booked into the Ware County Jail at 6:57 a.m., on the six charges. A magistrate denied Jessie’s bond, Skerratt said.
