A Blackshear man was fatally injured Saturday night, November 8 after he was struck by a truck while riding his bicycle on U.S. Highway 84 near the Farr’s Community.
Alonzo Giron Guzman, 28, died in the emergency room at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, of injuries he sustained in the 6:48 p.m. wreck.
The driver of the truck was not physically injured in the accident.
Guzman reportedly lived in the Oak Ridge community in Pierce County although is identification listed his address as Tenejapas, Chiapas State in southern Mexico.
The accident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol. Troopers Justin Jones and Austin Edwards are in charge of the investigation.
Arrangements for Guzman are pending and will be with Hart Funeral Home of Blackshear.
