Special to the WJH
Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia and the YMCA of Waycross have teamed to bring Girl Scout programming directly to the YMCA making it easier for local families to access fun, friendship, and leadership experiences for girls.
This partnership blends Girl Scouts’ long-standing focus on building courage, confidence, and character with the YMCA’s commitment to youth development and healthy living.
Together, the alliance will create new opportunities for girls to learn, lead, and thrive, helping them gain the skills and confidence to make a difference in their communities.
Through this collaboration, YMCA of Waycross will serve as a host site for on-site Girl Scout programming — interactive sessions led by GSHG staff or facilitators that bring the Girl Scout experience directly to girls where they already are. These programs will offer hands-on activities in STEM, the outdoors, life skills, and entrepreneurship, all while encouraging girls to discover their interests, connect with others, and take action to make their world a better place.
“The YMCA of Waycross is excited to announce a new partnership with Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia to help promote and grow the Girl Scouts program in our local community,” said Rusty Hall, CEO of YMCA of Waycross. “This collaboration aims to provide more opportunities for young girls to build courage, confidence, and character through engaging activities and community involvement offered at the Y.”
