City activates new platforms to ease citizen engagement

The City of Waycross recently launched two platforms to keep residents informed of happenings in the area and ease interaction with City Hall.

The city now uses the CivicPlus Mass Notification System to keep residents informed with both emergency alerts and routine updates of interest to citizens.

Emergency alerts, such as severe weather, city emergencies or road closures, will be sent directly to your phone by call, text, or email.

Routine updates like utility notices, community events, and city meetings will be shared by text and/or email.

Residents may sign up on the TextMyGov app, the city website or with a paper form found in this week’s water bills.

The city also has launched an online portal for codes, permits and licenses — MyGov Collaborator.

This platform will make it easier than ever for citizens, contractors and business owners to connect with the city. It makes services more accessible, efficient, and transparent.

The portal is available to apply for permits, contractor registrations, and licenses online. It allows submission and tracking of projects and abatement jobs in real time.

Notifications and updates can be received directly through the secure account. It also allows collaboration with city staff without visiting City Hall.

The portal provides a simple, user-friendly dashboard where you can manage your applications, pay fees, schedule inspections, and stay updated on the status of your requests.

All citizens, contractors, and business owners are encouraged to create an account and take advantage of the new service.
