NAHUNTA — Brantley County Commissioners adopted the 2026 budget during its regular monthly meeting Thursday.
Commissioners made a motion to adopt a resolution approving the General Fund revenue budget for FY2026 at $18,775,798.42. The same amount was also approved to adopt a resolution for the General Fund expenditure budget for 2026.
The following resolutions were also approved for the following budgets:
• DFCS (Department of Family and Children Services) Maintenance Fund was approved for $7,050.00.
• DATE Fund was approved for $6,050.00.
• Jail Fund was approved for $19,400.00.
• 2019-2024 SPLOST (Special Local Option Sales Tax) Fund was approved for $918,905.00.
• The 2025-2030 SPLOST Fund was approved for $2,279,131.09.
• The TSPLOST (Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) Fund was approved for $994,954.82.
• Capital Projects Fund was approved for $206,820.00.
• E911 Fund was approved for $516,325.55.
The commissioners made several motions to adopt a resolution approving the budgets for the volunteer fire department as follows:
• Calvary VFD: $70,410.00
• Waynesville VFD: $210,400.00
• Hortense VFD: $87,000.00
• Nahunta VFD, Inc and Uninc: $388,458.25
• Hoboken VFD: $83,746.97 Commissioners made a motion to set the Public Safety User Fee that will be calculated so every parcel in the unincorporated and incorporated areas of the county (excluding cemeteries and non-profits) shall receive a fee of $34.24 plus a $94.44 fee for every residential structure, commercial structure, mobile home or other mobile home device or structure, being used as a residence on it; all unincorporated parcels, 25 acres or more with no improvements (i.e. no residential, mobile home or commercial structure) will be assessed the additional $94.44 fee.
