Dine & Dash Elf Run slated Dec. 6 Satilla Advocacy Services holds its Downtown Dash & Dine Elf Run, at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 6.

The 3k and mile fun run are in memory of Cindy Tanner, and all proceeds benefit Satilla Advocacy. Food trucks will be on site and local restaurants will be open.

Deadline to pre-register for the 3k is Friday, November 21 to get a T-shirt. Race day registration and packet pickup is noon.

Swamp Park opens Holiday Light Show Okefenokee Swamp Park, 5700 Swamp Park Road, begins its annual Holiday Light Show, later this month.

Cost is $14 for ages 13-up an $12 for those 4-12. Children 3-under are free.

Dates are November 2830, December 5-7, 11-14, 18-23 and 26-28. Trips on the Swamp Park show train are held from 6 to 9 p.m.

Hot cocoa and s’mores will be available. For more information, check okeswamp.org.

Santa’s Workshop for children at SWF Southern Forest World, 1440 N. Augusta Avenue, will hold Santa’s Workshop, at 9 a.m., Saturday, December 13.

Children will be able to choose from a variety of gifts priced up to $10 from local vendors on site.

Gift wrapping will be available.

TOPS meets every Thurs. at 6:30 p.m.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a non-profit weight loss support group that meets on Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, 601 Hill St., Waycross.

OHC writer’s group has new schedule The Okefenokee Heritage Center’s OHC Writers has a new meeting schedule.

Meetings will be from 4 to 6 p.m the third Tuesday of each month at 1460 N. Augusta Avenue.

Smyrna Cemetery seeks donations Smyrna Cemetery Association is seeking donations for upkeep of the grounds and church.

McKinney Medical has Christmas Fest McKinney Medical Center, 218 Quarterman Street, is the site for the second annual Community Christmas Fesitval, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6.

Santa Claus will be there along with bounce houses, face-painting, food trucks, a DJ providing music, and numerous giveaways.
