
Terry Griffin, 72, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday evening, November 8, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, following a short illness.
Born June 8, 1953, in Waycross, he was a son of the late Perry E. and Rosa Lee Crawford Griffin. He lived most of his life in Ware and Pierce Counties and was a veteran, retiring as a Master Sergeant following 30 years with the United States Army and he proudly served in the Vietnam War.
He retired twice from the Social Security Administration Office in Waycross, had worked for the Okefenokee Swamp Park as a boat tour guide and recently was a driver for Mike Burch Ford. He was a member of Anchor Baptist Church and had formerly served with the Gideons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Eldean Griffin, Lamar Griffin, Bobby Griffin, Linda Landrum, Norma Jean Griffin, Berniece Griffin and Janelle Simpson.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Boyette Griffin, Blackshear; two children, Bradley Griffin (wife Stacy) and April Davis, both of Blackshear; five grandchildren, Hunter Griffin (wife Sierra), Kyle Reynolds, Catlyn Turbeville (husband Blake), Thomas Griffin and Brandon Griffin, all of Blackshear and James Reynolds, Waycross; five great-grandchildren, Asher Diaz, Kinley Griffin, Dustyn Turbeville, Easton Turbeville and Illa May Griffin expected soon; three siblings, Barbara Tucker, Waycross, Debbie McCarter (husband Bobby), York, SC and Ricky Griffin, Waycross and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Dell officiating.
Interment will follow in the High Bluff Cemetery in Brantley County.
